So how does it work? Let's break it down:

Profile Building

Profile Building

 We specialize in a process called profile building. We can take a single origin bean and roast it six or seven different ways and get six or seven completely different flavors out of the same bean. We achieve this by regulating temperature and air flow, manipulating the rate of rise in temperature in our roaster. This allows us to control and change the way the sugars caramelize inside the bean to create a plethora of different and amazing flavors.

Profile building is achieved by using graphs to measure time and duration of the roasting process.

Formulating A Recipe

Creating a recipe using the process of profile building is how we are able to cater to all of our customers unique preferences. Everybody has different tastes; pulling amazing flavors and nuances out of coffee beans is how we individualize your coffees.

Let’s find out what profiles speak to you and together we will design the recipe of your dreams.  Our goal is to create a roast that is truly YOURS so that when you leave our roast house you have your own unique product line that you’ll be proud to put your name on. Your success is our success.

Pre & Post Blending

When roasting coffee and creating flavors, pre and post blending are tools that can be used to alter different flavor tones. For instance, roasting an Ethiopian and Sumatran bean together at the same profile allows those two beans to caramelize together. When adding beans that have been roasted at a different rate of rise and finished at a completely different temperature,  blending these after the roasting process creates something unique and different.

Together we will work to determine the appropriate varieties and profiles to blend at the optimal ratios to perfectly manifest your vision of the ultimate cup of coffee.

Coffee "Cupping"

Cupping is a term used to describe a very specific method and technique of coffee tasting for the purpose of both quality control and to observe and catalog the flavor notes found in coffee.

As a guest at our roast house, you will use cupping in conjunction with the Tasting Wheel to analyze and identify the various flavors and aromas you want to include in your custom roasts.

Branding

Once we’re all done creating your unique line of coffees, it’s time to put your stamp on them.

Let’s brand your product with your logo and come up with some fun names for your new roasts.

If you already have a logo, that’s perfect.  We can get labels printed up right away with your logo on them.  Don’t have a logo?  no problem, we can help you design one.  For something simple, you can work with our in-house team, or if you’d like to create something a little more complicated we can connect you with our favorite graphic designer.
